Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling
One of the recent (series of) books I like most are the books about Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. These books lead you to the mystical world of wizards and their habits. Allthough the books were intended for children, many adults have read them and they all agree that the books are formidable. If you haven't read it yet, what are you still doing here: Go on, get yourself a copy and read! In order to enjoy every detail of the books without missing any playing on words, I've read my copies in Dutch. Besides that, it was easier to read for me too:)
Here are the covers and titles of the (Dutch) books, along with a picture of the writer, J.K. Rowling.The first book was named "Harry Potter en de steen der wijzen". In this book Harry (to his own surprise) is going to "Zweinstein", the school for wizards. On this school he is made familiar with the basics of "hocus-pocus" and the national sport: "Zwerkbal". Zwerkbal is a kind of soccer, but played on flying brooms and with more balls. Also, Harry learns about the malicious wizard "Voldemort" who is responsible for the death of Harry's parents.In the second book "Harry Potter en de geheime kamer" Harry is going to the second grade of Zweinstein. Again, he goes through many adventures with his friends.In the third book "Harry Potter en de gevangene van Azkaban", the last book yet to be translated into Dutch, Harry and the whole school are living in fear of an escaped prisoner. This prisoner is supposedly the person who framed Harry's parents. Now he's after Harry...
Unfortunately, the 4th book about Harry Potter has not yet been translated into Dutch. I am very eager to read it. As soon as it is available, I'll buy it, read it, and update this page...
