They marry.

suicide. Juliet wakes to find Romeo dead,
and commits suicide herself.
The story itself consists of 153 pages.
The book starts with an introduction, and ends with an appendix.
The acts and scenes do not have titles.
Point-of-view: Its hard to figure out the point-of-view, because its
A play, but I think its omniscient, because you know
What everybody sais. Youre everywhere.
Theme: Forbidden love.
Titel: The titel Romeo and Juliet has no special meaning. Theyre
Just the main characters. No read between the lines
Illustriation: On the front of the book there is a drawing of a girl with
Red hair, full lips, and very big eyes. I assume that this
Girl is Juliet, because shes a main character. There are
No further illustrations.
This story is written in old English, which is very difficult to read, and
Takes time to read.
*(A plague oboth your houses. I am sped. Is he gone, and hath
nothing? Page 163, line 91-93)
The sentences can be very long, but can also be very short, which also makes the reading difficult.
*(For so he said. He would. I hear him near. Nurse. Wife. What ho.
What, nurse I say. Page 208, line 23-24)
The story is one big dialoge, with exception of sentences like: Romeo
enters
There are no dialects, except the Old Enlish.
The whole story is serious. There are less serious passages, but no
funny ones.
*(help! help! My ladys dead! Page 209, line 14)
*(Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die. Page 228, line 120)
Opinion
I thought that this story was hard to read because of the fact that
its a play, but still I think this is one of the best stories, ever.
There are no funny passages, and everything that happens is serious
or sad, but still this story is not boring. I think thats really good,
because it gets boring so quickly without any funny happenings,
but this story doesnt. Thats what I liked about this story.(aanspreken)
A character that I liked a lot is Romeo.
Hes the kind of man every girl dreams of:
-Romantic
*( Bright Angel, for thou art as glorious to this night (..) as
is a winged messenger of heaven Page 128, line 26-32)
-Brave
*(Did Romeos hand shed Tybalts blood?
It did, it did. alas the day, it did. Page 172, line 71-72)
-Very much in love with Juliet
*(Heres to my love(..) thus with a kiss I die. Page 228, line 119-120)
A character that I absolutely didnt like is Juliets mother.
Without paying attention to Juliets feelings, she tries to force Juliet
into marrying Paris.
*(Well, think of marriage now. (..) By my count I was your mother
much upon these years. Page 103, line 69-72)
It doesnt matter how often I read this story, the ending always gets to me, again and again.
Both of them dont hesitate to commit suicide just to be together.
While, wouldnt there have been such a dumb family-feud, neither of them would have had to die.
The most characteristic passage of this story would have to be the balcony scene.
*(Oh, Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father, and refuse thy name.
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and Ill no longer
be a Capulet Page 128-129, line 33-36)
There were no passages in this story that were confusing or hard to understand. Except for the use of Old English, everything was
fairly easy to understand.
A dated aspect could be the marriage of Juliets father and mother,
which was a marriage of convenience, and not love.
Also the fact that Juliets opinion of whom she wanted to marry
didnt count at all, but that her parents would chose her a husband.
Another aspect would be the way people of their class were burried
(without coffin) and that people were burried within 42 hours.
Also an aspect is that Juliets mother didnt breast feed Juliet, but hired a nurse to do it, instead.
There are no questions I would like to ask the characters about why they did certain things. They way Shakespeare wrote this story makes the things people do seem natural, or at least logical.
A modern aspect is that a boy and a girl can fall in love at...
