Summary:
Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is part of a secret unit that solves international government problems in other countries. This time Jim, the runner of the unit which Ethan is part of, gets the mission to solve a problem in Prague. A few people found out that the famous NOC-list would be given to some criminals there. The NOC-list contains every name and secret identity of all international undercover-agents. At the party where this would happen, a few people of the secret unit get killed during jamming the lift-control and during a chase by foot. He also sees the car of another colleague been blown up in her car. On a certain moment Ethan sees on his watch that Jim has been shot down and Ethan commands the two other living people of his unit to abort this mission.
Than Ethan finds a dead colleague hanging on the fence, together with the man that hàd the first half of the NOC-list that contains the code-names of all international undercover-agents. Without the second half, you cannot reach anything with the first; you need to use them together. That means that every criminal will do whatever is necessary to get both parts.
Meanwhile Ethan sees through he has got a big problem. The government thinks he is guilty for the dead people in his team, and the people he would go to with these problems, were on his team and are now dead. That is the first thing that makes his mission impossible. The next thing is his idea to solve this problem (will come). Back home someone knocks on his door, and it is Claire. She is the only colleague that seems to be alive after everything in Prague. They think of a plan to catch the bad-guys. Then Ethan sees he has got mail from Max. Now Max is the interested criminal. She calls the NOC-list thing ‘Job 3:14’. That is a part of the bible. Max asks Ethan if he can give her the part of the list she thinks Ethan has got from the chase in Prague. Ethan has not got it, because the NOC-list from his mission where his team is killed, turned out to be a fake one. Anyhow he agrees, and thinks he can get the second half of the list. Actually he hàs to get it to get his life back, which is only possible if he catches the real bad-guys. Than Ethan wants to know why it is called ‘Job 3:14’, and he takes the bible. He opens it and sees a stamp of the ‘Drake hotel, Chicago’. In the beginning of the movie Jim tells his unit-people he has slept...
