Utopia
While we were thinking about this assignment, we figured that there was no such thing as an Utopia, because people would have to change a lot to create an ideal world. Therefore we tried to work out an image as close to an ideal world as possible. We’ve got several points that we will run through with you. First off all, we’d like to start with one of the things that this society almost destroyed: the environment.
****The environment:
We planned to keep our Island as clean as possible. Which is why there are no normal cars allowed. To make sure there will be no huge delays because of this rule, we do except cars that run on water. Next to that, there is a railway crossing the whole Island so no one will be left without transportation. If none of these options say anything to you, you could always walk or ride your bicycle.
There is a little airport lying on a small island offshore. You can get there by using the tunnel, which provides free entrance for cars, bicycle’s and pedestrians, or you can go there by boat. Every flight has to be reserved, for there are no schedules for arrivals or departures. To keep the air clean, there is only one plain every two weeks allowed.
It is illegal to dump your waste anywhere you want to. If you decide to do so anyway, you will get a fine of a certain number of hours cleaning up and helping other people.
In the middle of the island there is a little fresh water source, but it is not used as drinking water. Some people on this island have discovered a revolutionary way to turn the salt seawater into fresh drinking water.
