An analysis of the book
Genre : Fantasy
Outline : Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely travelling any further than his pantry or his cellar. But his contentment is disturbed when a wizard, Gandalf, and a company of dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an adventure .
Their road leeds to the Lonely Mountain where Smaug the Magnificent, an enormous dragon, guards a treasure hoard that used to belong to the dwarves, but the road towards the Lonely Mountain is full of dangers and life threatening creatures .
In the very beginning of their quest they fall into the hands of goblins, great ugly-looking creatures . These goblins loose Bilbo accidentally and that’s how he finds a magic ring in one of their caves that turns out to be very useful in further adventures .
After escaping from giant spiders and surviving frightening situations they finally arrive at the Lonely Mountain .
Bilbo demonstrates his bravery and thinking skills as he works to rid the mountain of Smaug (with a little bit of good luck and help from his magic ring) . A great battle culminates the adventure and Bilbo is able to return to his beloved hobbithole .
